A Peek Behind the Red Light Therapy Manufacturing Process
We have been quite busy here at Light Therapy Resource testing and comparing the various wraps from suppliers on the market as we finalize our red light therapy wrap. We want to ensure our wraps offer the highest quality on the market at an affordable price point. Some of the key takeaways from our testing:
- The stitching quality of the Light Therapy Resource Wrap is superior to any of the other suppliers we tested. Check out the images. The image labeled LTR is the Light Therapy Resource wrap. Though not as easy to see in the image, there is a clear difference in the stitching, it is much cleaner and the edges are even and consistent.
- The Light Therapy Resource Wrap LEDs are closer together, meaning better surface area output. You don't need as much output when you have more surface area per LED. Output creates heat and when you are touching the skin, too much heat can be a bad thing!
- Added Blue Light and Pulsing options. The Light Therapy Resource Wrap is a premium wrap because it offers not only the traditional red and infrared wavelengths, but also both blue light and the option of pulsing or steady light mode. Blue light has been shown to fight bacteria so it's a must have wavelength in our opinion!
- The Warranty and Product Quality Issues. We experienced issues with several of our devices, ranging from partial lighting not turning on to the device burning our tester's skin. When discussing return/replacement options, we experienced terrible customer service...as a manufacturer considering conducting business with these suppliers! We can't even imagine how bad it would be for a typical consumer!
With all of the sellers on the market these days, there are a few things to consider before making a purchase.
- Who are you dealing with? Have you heard of the company before, Google them. Do they even come up online? Does the website have a page describing who the company is, where they are located, etc. If not, you are likely dealing with an overseas seller. Buyer beware!
- Are there product reviews? Do they look legitimate? Is there a verified reviewer platform attached to the reviews (typically you will see a logo or emblem indicating the reviews have been independently collected).
- What is the warranty and return policy? Can you even find it on their website?
- What are the customer service options? Consider reaching out to the company BEFORE making your purchase to ensure you have access to a real person you can understand.
- Is the product being advertised with words like "FDA Approved" or "FDA Certified" or "the only device FDA cleared for home use"? There is so much misinformation (these are mostly the overseas sellers pretending to be US sellers) and false advertising, everyone is trying to use big words to stand out. But the only acceptable term is FDA Cleared, which is a premarket notification process. And most devices sold on the market have this FDA clearance so it's mostly marketing hype. Any other terminology is just false and inflated advertising and should be an immediate red flag. To read more about this, click here.
While red light therapy has tremendous potential to improve our overall health and wellness, the market is filled with shady sellers who are eager to sell you a device, but buyer beware! Our product testers and market researchers continue to do the hard work so you don't have to, ensuring we sell only the highest quality devices. They may look the same (it's easy to steal images online), but they are not! Purchase from a trusted source, you will thank yourself in the long run!
