I have been asked about the blue light found in both the Light Therapy Resource Handheld Torch and the Red Light Therapy Wrap. These are upgrades and require customizations. Similar products on the market only contain the red and infrared light (or if they do contain the blue light they are charging way more than I am), but I added the blue wavelength because not only have I had huge success personally and with my clients combining the blue wavelength with the red wavelengths, but there is also a growing body of research to support combining blue light therapy (along with red light therapy) to support a variety of health issues. That's why today we are introducing you to blue light therapy for oral health, acne, skin conditions and more!
Blue light is a shorter wavelength than red light, which means less penetration. Research has found blue light to be an antimicrobial, making it effective for treating a variety of skin conditions. Take acne for example. Use the blue light to penetrate the pores and destroy the bacteria. You can follow it up with the red light to penetrate deeper to reduce the associated pain and inflammation. A similar recovery strategy applies to cuts and scrapes as this combination also speeds up wound healing time so it can be very effective at decreasing injury recovery times! So next time you think about grabbing the ice, consider blue (and red) light therapy instead! To read more about using light therapy instead of ice, click here.
Blue light can also help you at your next dental appointment! Blue light can kill bacteria and reduce plaque so why not give blue light therapy a try! These are just a few ways adding blue light therapy to your treatment regime can improve your health and wellness. The body is already built to repair and recover itself. We are simply amping up the body's natural abilities to speed things up!
